MOVEMENT
Hit points are a measure of your character's life force. The greater the
hit points, the more damage a character is able to take before dying. Once a
character reaches zero hit points, that character falls unconcious. At
negative hit points, a character will slowly bleed to death. At -10 hit
points, death occurs.
Hit points are regained naturally at a relatively slow rate. Certain
skills, spells, and rooms can enhance this. Hit points can also be healed
magically by certain spells, like HEAL. Hit point loss can occur through
damage from fighting, mis-casting spells, not eating/drinking when
hungry/thirsty, staying in a death room, etc.
Mana points are a measure of your character's magical capacity. The greater
the mana possessed, the more spells (and more powerful spells) a character
can cast. At zero mana (or less), a character is unable to cast any further
spells.
Mana points are regained naturally at a relatively slow rate. Certain
skills and rooms can enhance this. Mana loss can occur through casting
spells, from being the victim of certain spells, being in mana draining
rooms, etc.
Movement points are a measure of your character's stamina. The greater the
movement points, the longer a character can travel without resting, or fight
without worrying about exhaustion. At zero movement points, a character is
unable to move or even fight.
Movement points are regained naturally at a relative slow rate. Certain
skills, spells, and rooms can enhance this. Movement point loss can occur
through moving from place to place, engaging in combat, staying in an
withering room, etc.
