STEAL

Syntax:  steal <item>|coins|gold|silver <target>

A thief going by the initials NF has contributed the NF stealing technique,
nfsteal, which has some better capabilities than the old standard for
thievery.

Nfsteal syntax:
   nfsteal <person> (will take coins)
nfsteal <item> <person> will grab an item in inventory or worn
   nfsteal <item> <person> <inventory|equipment|worn> (specifies location)

Theft is the defining skill of the thief, and stealing is one of the means
of that thievery.  It allows items to be stolen from the inventory of
monsters and characters!  Note that gold and silver can also be stolen by
using STEAL COINS.  In such a case the stealing attempt will be for the
target's money, not an actual item.  A thief may also specify GOLD or SILVER
instead of COINS, to target a specific type of coinage.  But beware,
attempting to steal from another player character earns you a THIEF flag if
you are caught.  A very low dexterity will be extremely detrimental to the
thief's ability to steal successfully, even with 100% skill!

A note on items looted as a THIEF with the STEAL command.

1. If the person you steal from has been slept you are allowed ONLY 3 of
   their items.

2. If one of THOSE items is a bag or container than you can have 3 things
within the bag, and not the entire bag.

3. Immortal favors, or quest bought items MUST be ransomed back to the
victim for 1/10 their level in diamonds (maximum)

4. Immortal and Quest items are INCLUDED in the 3 items allowed in the
sleep/loot, and will be severly more punished if pushed due to their
   nature.

5. Diamonds and Gold are not limited in steal, and can be taken at will.

6. If the victim has NOT been slept you may steal until you are caught in
any situation.  Still if a bag is stolen only 3 items from it may be
   kept or ransomed.

These rules should be watched and followed and may change at any time with
or without notice.

Note:  Stealing from a <@>-,-'---> is usually not profitable and may result
in nasty side-effects.  Nimble fingers beware!
