BACKSTAB

Syntax:  backstab [<target>]

Backstab is the favored attack of thieves, murderers, and other rogues.  It
can be used with any weapon type, but is most effective with piercing
weapons.  The damage inflicted by a backstab is determined by the attacker's
level, his weapon skill, his backstab skill, his dexterity, and the power of
his opponent.

The success of a backstab is not guaranteed, even with 100% skill.  Factors
such as the victim being able to see the character, whether or not the
character is sneaking and/or hiding, and is the character a thief, all play a
role.  Perhaps the most important factor of all is the character's dexterity.
A very low dexterity will be extremely detrimental to the character's ability
to backstab successfully.  Sleeping victims tend to make backstabbing much
easier.

BS is a synonym for BACKSTAB.
