MULTIPLAY

Multi-playing is defined as one player controlling more than one character and
using that control to gain an advantage.  The most blatant example is when
someone has two characters logged in simultaneously.  But it also includes
situations, for example, in which one character is logged off after dropping
gold or objects in order for another character, also controlled by the same
player, to retrieve the loot.

The main rules concerning multi-playing:

* Never have more than one character logged in at once.  Ever.
* In no way, shape, or form are two characters controlled by the same player
allowed to assist each other.  There are NO exceptions to this.
* Do not allow what happens to one of your characters to affect the actions
of any of your other characters.  Keep them separated!
* If you do play multiple characters, to avoid even the suspicion of
multi-playing, wait at least a couple minutes after logging off as one to
   bring on another.

Failure to abide by these rules may result in punishments up to and including
the permanent loss of all characters involved.  What follows are just a few
cases which have come to our attention as the MAIN types of multi-playing:

* Using a high-level character to beat mobiles to near death, then logging in
as another character to finish the deed.
* Getting killed as one character and then logging in as another to retrieve
the corpse or clear the way to the corpse. (see exception below)
* Dropping diamonds, gold, and other objects as one character in a safe
location, then logging in as another character to get the loot.
* Quitting with one character and immediately logging in as another because:
someone else logged in, to escape player killing, etc.

There is ONE exception to these rules, and that is if you find yourself in a
situation where you cannot retrieve your corpse on your own and there is no
one else who can or will help you.  Check the CORPSE RETRIEVAL helpfile for
details.
